Daniel Trist Crowned MVP of the NBL1 South Men's 2023 Season

Last night at the NBL1 South Awards Night, Daniel Trist emerged as the co-winner of the prestigious Most Valuable Player (MVP) Award for the 2023 season. Sharing this remarkable honor with Jack Purchase from the Melbourne Tigers, 

During the award ceremony, Trist humbly shared his thoughts, emphasizing the importance of the program he is a part of and expressing gratitude towards the individuals who have played a significant role in his journey. "It's a testament to the program you're part of. It's an elite program with outstanding people. Absolutely everyone is just outstanding that does their job to the highest level." he remarked.

Acknowledging his team's contributions to his success, Trist stated,  "I'm lucky enough to get the ball in positions where I can do something with it and make an impact."

Trist's commitment to a physical style of play and his ability to consistently execute it have undoubtedly set him apart. "I can just go out there every night trying to play a physical style. It generally works out for me," he quipped.

Not forgetting his support system off the court, Trist extended heartfelt gratitude, saying, "I'd like to thank and acknowledge my #1 fan, my wife Kahli (Golden Whistle Award winning referee), my little one at home, Hallie and every single one of my teammates. They pass me the ball, set screens, and let me do the things I do."

Daniel Trist's MVP accolade is not just a testament to his individual excellence but also a celebration of teamwork, dedication, and a passion for the game.
