Dimanlig sisters, Herbert join Perth Redbacks

The Perth Redbacks have announced the signings of talented sisters Ella and Mya Dimanlig for the 2021 NBL1 West season, with Jordan Herbert also joining the men's team. 

Ella and Mya are both East Perth juniors but have decided to make the move to the Redbacks, with Ella crediting the decision to move to a member of Perth's coaching staff. 

"Michelle Fletcher (Redbacks NBL1 Assistant Coach) has been speaking to our aunty about coming across," she said. 

"We (Ella and sister Mya) ended up staying with East Perth in 2020 but for 2021, we decided to join the Redbacks and find out what it's all about." 

On the other hand, Herbert has not represented any other club other than the Redbacks. 

He says he is looking forward to continuing his journey at his boyhood club in 2021. 

"I'm one of only a couple of Redbacks juniors still around so obviously it's exciting to start from the beginning at a club and continue to go through there for your whole career," he said. 

"While there's always the option to look elsewhere, it's special to stay where you've started. 

"I've been around a lot of great players at the Redbacks and I want to continue that. 

"It's always great to be here and that's why I wanted to stay."
