Eagles, Sabres win Adelaide Basketball Challenge

The Forestville Eagles (men) and Sturt Sabres (women) have maintained their perfect records in the Adelaide Basketball Challenge (ABC) by winning the championships this past weekend.

The Forestville Eagles (men) and Sturt Sabres (women) have maintained their perfect records in the Adelaide Basketball Challenge (ABC) by winning the championships this past weekend.

Forestville took down the Sabres in the men’s Grand Final 79-63. It was a balanced attack from the Eagles with Adam Doyle (14 points), Michael Harris (12) and Todd Winter (11) all scoring in double-digits.

It was a different story for Sturt in the women’s Grand Final, as they defeated the Southern Tigers 68-59. Returning college star Jade Johnson led the way for the champions with 17 points while she received strong support from Nicola Mathews (15), Emily Close (10) and Kayla Mathews (10).

Both teams will now turn their attention to the 2021 NBL1 Central season.
