The Knox Raiders men were able to knock off cross town rivals the Kilsyth Cobras on Saturday night, 72-63.

Any win against Kilsyth means a lot, but this one meant even more, with Head Coach Dom Linossier winning his first ever senior game.

"To have the opportunity to be the senior men's coach at the junior program where I've grown up is a dream come true," said Linossier.

"It's exciting to have had that first win - hopefully the first of many for our group."

The Knox and Kilsyth rivalry goes back a long way, and each year the teams play for The Ashes.

"Saturday night we heard from two former Raiders greats in Sean Carroll & Mick Hill about what it means to beat Kilsyth to them, and it was awesome to be able to come away from Leg 1 of The Ashes with two wins (including the women)," continued Dom.

"With new styles of play and new systems, the boys are outstanding in working together to get on the same page."

"We noticed the great fan base really enjoying the game and encourage as many Raider families as possible to get down and experience a Game Night - it's like no other in the league."

"In the first 2 weeks, we have had four NBL1 debutants and three guys play NBL1 at Knox for the first time; it's an exciting time for us, and we are looking forward to more Ws together."
