NBL1 North

Logan Thunder: Mikaela Ruef

Logan’s powerhouse Mikaela Ruef recorded a massive stat line this week, with 28 points, 25 rebounds and four assists.

Shooting a ridiculous 71.4 percent from inside the arc, Ruef dominated the paint and made sure she matched that energy on the defensive end with 25 rebounds against Ipswich Force.

The Thunder claimed their third straight win, securing an 83-71 victory on the road.

Darwin Salties: Makuach Maluach

NBL rising star Makuach Maluach has been busy making grand plays in the NBL1. Maluach recorded 29 points, 11 rebounds and a 70.6 2-point shooting percentage on Saturday over USC Rip City.

Maluach led the Salties to a 12-point win, adding two assists and one steal to his impressive stat line.

NBL1 East

Hornsby Ku-ring-gai Spiders: Kristina Moore  

Kristina Moore, Spiders’ saviour led her squad to their first win of the season after a 13-game drought.

At the Hills Hornets’ home stadium, Moore recorded 33 points, 11 rebounds and three assists for the Spiders. Her performance on the road resulted in a historic 69-56 win.

Albury-Wodonga Bandits: Jamir Coleman 

Bandits’ Jamir Coleman contributed on all corners of the court this weekend in their 104-97 win over the Sydney Comets.

Coleman recorded 26 points, 9 rebounds, five assists, two steals and one block. His versatility was unmatched, as he led his side to the win after a two-game losing streak.

NBL1 South  

Bendigo Braves: Amy Atwell

Bendigo’s Atwell shone in the Braves’ 2-0 record this weekend. Atwell averaged 29.5 points, 9 rebounds and three assists across Round 8. 

The 24-year-old guard scored a total of 59 points and dominated the court to claim two wins to see them remain undefeated and on top of the ladder in NBL1 South.

Frankston Blues: Lucas Barker

Lucas Barker has been a consistent shooting sensation this season and didn’t disappoint this weekend against the Keilor Thunder.

Barker recorded 26 points, 16 rebounds and six assists in the Blues’ thrilling three-point win. Barker led the team to a 9-3 record and second place on the ladder.

NBL1 West  

Goldfields Giants: Darcee Garbin

Darcee Garbin, Giants’ stat leader this weekend suited up and delivered to help her struggling side.

In her debut game for the 2023 NBL1 season with her home club, Garbin scored 34 points, 14 rebounds and six assists in their 92-85 win over the Perry Lakes Hawks.

Garbin was a powerhouse on both ends of the court, adding three steals to her impressive stat line.

Eastern Suns: Joe Cook-Green

Cook-Green delivered basket-after-basket on Saturday in the Eastern Suns’ 107-100 win on the road. The 25-year-old guard recorded 32 points, three rebounds and seven assists.

NBL1 Central

North Adelaide Rockets: Brooke Basham

Scoring another Foot Locker Player of the Week award was Rockets’ star Brooke Basham. Basham recorded a near triple-double with 31 points, eight rebounds and seven assists in North Adelaide’s 95-64 win at home.

Basham was a playmaker and all-round baller with five steals to secure their 31-point win over the Central Districts Lions. Basham aided the Rockets in their crucial win to remain in fourth place on the ladder with a 6-5 record.

West Adelaide Bearcats: Lachlan Olbrich

Illawarra Hawks signing Lachlan Olbrich is working hard to develop his skills in NBL1 Central and is putting down massive stats with the Bearcats.

Olbrich recorded 26 points, 16 rebounds and two blocks against the Woodville Warriors. The young star shot 60 percent from the field and matched that with a two-point shooting percentage of 61.5 percent.
