NBL1 Central Round 1
Central District Lions: Taylah Levy
After playing for the Eastern Mavericks last season, Taylah Levy switched sides to the Lions and played against her old team in Round 1.
Last season she scored 36 points and 10 assists against the Lions, and she returned the favour in Round 1, recording 24 points, 10 rebounds and three steals to steal the win on the road.
The Lions will face off against the defending champion Norwood Flames on Thursday, streaming live from 6:30pm local time via NBL1.com.au or the NBL1 App.
Woodville Warriors: Sharif Black
Coming off a big season for the McKinnon Cougars in the Big V, Sharif Black made his NBL1 debut this weekend for the Woodville Warriors.
He averaged 27 points for the Victorian side, and his scoring skillset translated perfectly in his first NBL1 Central game.
In the 104-93 victory over the reigning champions, Black scored 39 points with nine rebounds and five assists – making six triples in the close win.
With a flurry of stepback threes and creative finishes inside, Black has made a statement in Round 1.
The Warriors' next game will take place Thursday against the Southern Tigers, with the men’s game tipping-off at 8:30pm local time streaming live via NBL1.com.au or the NBL1 App.
