NBL1 Central Round 2
Central District Lions: Casey Samuels
After spending last season in the NBL1 West, Samuels returned to the Lions and has been critical in their 2-0 success in NBL1 Central so far.
Against the defending champion Norwood Flames, the Lions took the win at home 89-83. Casey Samuels was outstanding, she had a near triple-double with 23 points, 10 assists and eight rebounds to get the win.
Forming a new big three alongside the Round 1 Player of the Week Taylah Levy and conference champion Jasmin Fejo – the Lions are set to completely turn around their season after finishing 10th in 2023.
West Adelaide Bearcats: Jordan Heading
After multiple seasons in college and overseas, the Adelaide-born Filipino guard is playing his first season in the country. Heading scored an outrageous 45 points, putting up 17 points alone in the fourth quarter to try to give the Bearcats their first win of the season.

The reigning champions have started the season winless, but with incoming signings and another week of practice -- the team should be ready to take on the Lions at home.
NBL1 West Round 1
Lakeside Lightning: Teige Morrell
In her first game with a new club, Teige Morrell had an otherworldly performance with 27 points and 31 rebounds in an overtime win over the Willetton Tigers.
Morrell likely could have had even more rebounds if not for foul trouble, as the two-time NBL1 West First-Team member made a sizeable first impression on her new Lakeside Lightning fans.

The 2022 NBL1 South All-Star Five member caught fire on Thursday night, with 42 points, six made triples as well as five rebounds, four assists and steals.
Harris played in 26 games for the Perth Wildcats this past NBL season, helping them reach the Finals with his shooting off the bench. If he continues his pace, he could be set for an impressive NBL25 season.
