NBL1 Central: Round 3

Norwood Flames: Jordyn Freer 

While Brooke Basham and Lauren Mansfield may typically get the headlines, Jordyn Freer stole the show in the 83-79 win over the Panthers. With a team-high 22 points, the 22-year-old guard will be a crucial piece to North Adelaide’s finals run if she can continue to excel in important games like this.


South Adelaide Panthers: Tom Kubank 

Tom Kubank had an offensive explosion on Saturday, dropping a game-high 33 points, 10 rebounds and five three-pointers made to give the Panthers their third straight win of the season.

NBL1 West: Round 2

Joondalup Wolves: CJ Turnage 

A superstar for the Joondalup Wolves CJ Turnage was unstoppable on Saturday night. Scoring 25 points with 10 rebounds and three assists, the big man was too much for the Slammers defence to handle.

Eastern Suns: Tiahna Sears

In a dangerously close win for the Eastern Suns, Tiahna Sears was brightest with a near triple-double of 23 points, 13 rebounds and seven assists to help give the Suns their first win of the season over the East Perth Eagles.

NBL1 East: Round 1 

Albury-Wodonga Bandits: Lauren Jackson 

The Hall of Famer returned to the court this weekend playing two games across NSW, starting on Saturday in the heart of Sydney at the Comets then travelling up to play the Hornsby Ku-ring-gai Spiders on Sunday. 

The 2024 WNBL champion got her rust off against the Comets, scoring 22 points with 16 rebounds in a decisive win. On Sunday, Jackson was unstoppable dropping 33 points with 16 rebounds in only minutes. 


Albury-Wodonga Bandits: Will Hickey

NBL rising star Will Hickey made his debut with the Bandits this weekend, showing more of his future stardom in the NBL1 East. 

On Saturday the Bandits lost to the Comets 78-94, with Hickey scoring 32 points and roping an early contender for the dunk of the season. 

On Sunday, the Bandits rallied behind Hickey with his 36 points, 15 rebounds and five assists to conquer the Spiders on their home floor.

NBL1 South: Round 1 

Knox Raiders: Alicia Froling

2022 NBL1 South MVP Alicia Froling is back with the Knox Raiders and continues to be a dominant force inside. Round 1 started on Wednesday night, where Froling had a monstrous double-double of 31 points and 16 rebounds against Sandringham. 

On Saturday, she continued her momentum with 33 points and 16 rebounds against the Kilsyth Cobras – giving the Raiders their first two wins of the season. 

Mount Gambier Pioneers: Nick Marshall 

Adelaide 36er Nick Marshall has made his return to the Pioneers and was unstoppable in Round 1. 

In two wins on the road, Marshall scored 20 points with 10 rebounds against Sandringham Sabres, and then followed that up with a game-high 23 points against Dejan Vasiljevic’s Waverley Falcons on Sunday.
