Foxwell is back!

The Eltham Wildcats are thrilled to announce the re-signing of Owen Foxwell for the upcoming NBL1 South 2024 season. Foxwell, a key player to the Wildcats success last year will represent the red and black for his third season with the club.

The 20-year-old had a standout NBL1 South season in 2023 where he averaged 18.6 points, 5.2 assists and 4.2 rebounds per game helping the Wildcats make their first ever NBL1 finals appearance.

The tenacious guard then earned a roster spot on the South East Melbourne Phoenix NBL team where he recently posted a season high 14 points against the league leaders Melbourne United.

Although young, Foxwell will bring a wealth of experience and talent to the Eltham Wildcats, having established himself as a formidable force in the NBL and NBL1 competitions.

“It is awesome to represent such a passionate and tight knit community that Eltham is, the support our team has received and also the growth the club has made has been amazing to see and experience.

“I couldn’t be more excited to be back again for my 3rd year at the club and continue building off the back of a successful 2023 season. It's the place where I started my NBL1 journey and would be really special to go one step closer this year and win the championship.”

Coach Craig Stratford has high praise for his young star. 

"Owen first joined our senior program two years ago when we commenced building a new Eltham roster, at that stage he was an exciting young talent with a bright future. What he has achieved during the past two years both at the NBL and NBL1 levels has been outstanding. He is a big part of both our team and the broader Eltham basketball community. The respect he has established with the team and our coaching staff, will see Owen taking on more leadership responsibilities within the group this year."

You can see Foxwell and the Wildcats in action when the season tips off on April 6^th at Montmorency Secondary College against local rivals the Diamond Valley Eagles.
