Waverley continue hot start with big win at Frankston
The Waverley Falcons delivered an emphatic performance away from home on Saturday night to beat the Frankston Blues 86-63.
Waverley continued its undefeated start to the NBL1 South season but it took until the second quarter for them to work on top of Frankston. But the Falcons led 39-30 going into half-time and then continued to pull away through the second half to win by 23.
Carley Ernst led the charge in the win for Waverley with 28 points, eight rebounds and eight assists with Sophia Locandro adding 15 points and seven boards, Maddi Utti 12 points, 14 boards and five assists, and Renae Mokrzycki 10 points.
Louise Brown ended up with 18 points, 13 rebounds, four assists and four steals for Frankston while Micaela Cocks had 11 points and four boards, and Chelsea D'Angelo 10 points, five rebounds and two steals.

Pioneers stay undefeated with road win over Blues
The Mount Gambier Pioneers continued their undefeated start to the NBL1 South season beating the Frankston Blues 82-59 on the road on Sunday.
The Pioneers proved too strong at Dreamstreet Lending Arena to beat the Blues by 23 points to improve to 3-0 on the season while Frankston slip to 1-2.
Cassandra Brown produced 24 points and 11 rebounds in the win for Mt Gambier while hitting 5/12 from three-point territory with Miela Goodchild contributing 23 points, four rebounds and four assists.
Haliegh Reinoehl added 13 points and five rebounds, Isabella Brancatisano 12 points, four boards and three steals, and Imogen Rock 10 points, six rebounds and two assists.
Louise Brown fought valiantly for Frankston finishing with 13 points and 16 rebounds with Micaela Cocks contributing 11 points and three assists, and Courtney Wilkins 10 points and eight rebounds.
Mount Gambier beats Frankston in battle of unbeaten teams
The Mount Gambier Pioneers prevailed in the battle of undefeated NBL1 South teams on Sunday beating the Frankston Blues 103-94.
Both the Blues and Pioneers had won their opening three games of the season including on Saturday night Frankston beating Waverley and the Pioneers defeating Casey at home back on Friday.
That set the stage for a tantalising match up on Sunday at Dreamstreet Lending Arena, and at home it was the Blues who started strongly with 27 points to 18 in the opening quarter.
Mount Gambier turned things around with 24 points to 16 in the second quarter before another 32 to 23 in the third period, and that set them up for the eventual nine-point victory.
Nick Marshall finished with 24 points, five assists, five steals and four rebounds for Mt Gambier, Jacob Lampkin 16 points and 15 rebounds, Austin Shelley 15 points, and Kane de Wit 13 points.
Lachlan Barker delivered 21 points and three steals for Frankston with Igor Hadziomerovic 20 points and three steals, and Daniel Trist 20 points and 11 boards.
