We’ve got 12 Games of the Week this coming weekend, so sit back and relax as we tell you who the must-watch players are in all the double-headers.

South Banner

Friday, Round 11: Mount Gambier Pioneers vs Hobart Chargers

Women’s live from 6:00pm AEST | Men’s live from 8:00pm AEST

Hobart Chargers: Ole Angerstein

After an ice-cold performance against Sandringham last week where the team shot 28.4 per cent from the field, all eyes will be on 2022 champion Ole Angerstein to steer the ship in the right direction.

After missing the majority of the 2023 season with a knee injury, Angerstein has bounced back with a double-double average of 15.1 points and 12 rebounds for the seventh-placed Chargers.

Head coach Anthony Stewart stressed that after last week’s performance, the offence will now lean on Angerstein’s experience and inside presence to open up the floor for the star imports.

Sunday, Round 11: Knox Raiders vs Launceston Tornadoes / NT Tasmania Thunder

Women’s live from 12:00pm AEST | Men’s live from 2:00pm AEST

Knox Raiders: Alicia Froling

While twin sister Keely is away with the Opals, Alicia Froling will still put on a show after last weekend’s triple-double performance.

Withstanding Amy Atwell’s 50-point barrage, Froling managed to put up 29 points, 12 rebounds and 10 assists in a two-point win at home.

With a 14-2 record heading into this weekend, the Raiders are set for a massive NBL1 South Finals and Froling is the key reason for it.

West Banner

Friday, Round 13: Perry Lakes Hawks vs Joondalup

Women’s live from 6:30pm AWST | Men’s live from 8:30pm AWST

Joondalup Wolves: Sarah Toeania

After an all-time classic double-overtime game in Round 11, the women’s game will be an absolute must-watch.

While Laci Hawthorne stole the show with a last-second block, all eyes will be on Samoan star Sarah Toeaina to see if she can swing the game in the Wolves' favour.

She will be at the top of the Hawks’ scouting list this weekend, as she’ll be highly motivated to get back into the wins column after the Wolves dropped a winnable game to the Eastern Suns last weekend.

Averaging 17.5 points, five rebounds and 3.8 assists per game this season, make sure to tune in live and free via Kayo Freebies to catch Sarah Toeania in action.

North Banner

Round 11, Saturday: Sunshine Coast Phoenix vs Ipswich Force

Women’s live from 5:30pm AEST | Men’s live from 7:30pm AEST

Sunshine Coast Phoenix: Kobe McDowell-White

After a standout performance in the Indigenous Basketball Academy All-Star game, Kobe McDowell-White will be ready to take on the reigning champions this weekend.

Going up against Nathan Sobey will be no easy feat, but considering McDowell-White is averaging 16.4 points and 6.5 assists this season – it should be a great head-to-head clash between the present and the future.

Central Banner

Saturday, Round 12: West Adelaide Bearcats vs Sturt Sabres

Women’s live from 6:30pm ACST | Men’s live from 8:15pm ACST

West Adelaide Bearcats: Akoldah Gak

Coming off his debut season in Cairns, Akoldah Gak has been a dominant force for the defending champion West Adelaide Bearcats.

Coming in as a replacement for Lachlan Oblrich, the athleticism and defence that comes with Gak has been a point of difference between the 2023 and 2024 sides.

Averaging 20.4 points, 9.6 rebounds and just under a block per game, the second-on-the-ladder Sabres will have a difficult assignment in limiting Gak’s explosive potential.

East Banner

Sunday, Round 11: Sutherland Sharks vs Albury-Wodonga Bandits

Women’s live from 11:30am AEST | Men’s live from 1:30pm AEST

Albury-Wodonga Bandits: Unique Thompson

With Lauren Jackson away with Opals duties, the Bandits will rely on 2022 All-Star Five member Unique Thompson to carry the frontcourt duties against the Sharks.

In the second game of a double-header weekend, Thompson will be leading the charge to ensure Albury-Wodonga’s undefeated streak isn’t toppled this weekend.

Averaging 25 points. 16.8 rebounds and 2.8 steals in her six games this season, make sure to tune in as this will be the perfect thing to watch on a cold Sunday afternoon.
