Genna Anderson stays a Flame

The Norwood Flames have announced Genna Anderson has re-signed with the club for the next two NBL1 Central seasons.

The Norwood Flames have announced Genna Anderson has re-signed with the club for the next two NBL1 Central seasons.

Anderson stepped up as an integral member of the Flames this past Adelaide Basketball Challenge (ABC) season, as a leader both on and off the court.

Anderson is a 5’11 forward, who used to play for the Keilor Thunder in Victoria, but has since returned to Adelaide to play for Norwood in the ABC.

Her season culminated in a season high 39-point outing, which showed her work ethic and capabilities coming to fruition.

“I am excited to sign on for the next two years with a club that has welcomed me with open arms,” Anderson said.

“I am loving playing back in Adelaide again, for the club where my love for basketball began. I am really looking forward to getting to work with my teammates and Coach D-Wash.”

Coach Derrick Washington Jr was also excited to have another player officially added to the roster for the upcoming NBL1 Central season.

“Genna is a hardworking person on the floor who can not only score but rebounds and brings great leadership to the team. Two out of the four years with the Thunder she competed in the Grand final but unfortunately fell short,” Washington Jr said.

“She is more hungry than ever to bring a positive winning culture and a championship to Norwood. We look forward to watching her play in the NBL1 Central.”

Anderson joins Shay’Lee Dayman as announced Norwood players for next year.
