The Hobart Chargers have added Harry Froling and Angiee Tompkins to their rosters for the 2022 Coles Express NBL1 South season.
Standing at 211cm and tipping the scales at 120kg, Froling will bring a size and presence to NBL1 South.
Hailing from Townsville, Froling spent time at the Basketball Australia Centre of Excellence before heading to the United States to pursue his college career, playing with Southern Methodist University and Marquette University.
Upon returning to Australia, Froling helped the Townsville Heat capture the 2018 QBL Championship before joining the Adelaide 36ers for the 2018-19 NBL Season where he would capture Rookie of the Year honours.
Froling completed two seasons with Adelaide before moving to the Brisbane Bullets for the 2020-21 NBL Season.
At its completion, Froling joined the Mackay Meteors for the 2021 NBL1 North season where he was selected in the league’s All-Star Five.
Froling is currently playing for the Illawarra Hawks in the NBL alongside his brother Sam and posted a career night only a few weeks ago against his old side Adelaide with 27 points, including eight three-point makes.
Born in Arcadia, Florida, Tompkins played her High School basketball with Charlotte High School in Florida before beginning her college career with Junior College St. Petersburg and finishing at Division 1 school Wichita State, in Kansas.
As a pro, Tompkins has a wealth of experience across Europe for Panionios Athens in Greece, Ehta BC and AEL Limassol in Cyprus, as well as Bodrum Karyaspor, Cesme Basketbol Izmir, and currently Antalya GSK in Turkey.
A prolific scorer and the ability to play strong inside and outside on both ends of the floor, Tompkins was lauded for her exceptional 2019-20 season with ETHA BC in Cyprus where she produced arguably the greatest season by either a male or female in the history of the competition.
The 189cm forward/centre was named to both the All-League and All-Defensive first teams and was awarded MVP of the league with averages of 28.2 points, 16.1 rebounds, 6.3 assists and 2.9 steals, while shooting 52 percent from inside the arc, 47.6 percent outside the arc, and 87.7 percent from the free-throw line.
Continuing to play at an elite level, Tompkins is currently leading Antalya GSK in points per game (27.2) rebounds per game (13) and shooting percentage (56 percent).
