The Ringwood Hawks defeated the Frankston Blues 88-64 on Monday night at Norwood Secondary College, dominating proceedings from the opening tip.
Ringwood's offence was firing on all cylinders, shooting an efficient 47 percent from the field compared to Frankston's 36 percent. Harry Sealey was nearly unstoppable with 24 points, including four triples and five assists, while Jonathan Lawton added 22 points on a red-hot 72 percent shooting. The Hawks' ball movement was exceptional with 21 assists to just nine turnovers, allowing them to build a lead that stretched to 29 points during the contest.
The Blues struggled to find rhythm throughout the game, committing 19 turnovers which Ringwood converted into 11 points. Despite their difficulties, Michael Harris led Frankston with 16 points, while Taane Samuel added 15 points but committed five turnovers. Igor Hadziomerovic recorded a double-double with 11 points and 10 boards in the losing effort, with the Blues enjoying a 47-37 rebounding advantage that wasn't enough to overcome their shooting woes.
