WNBL champion and NBL1 North superstar Mikaela Ruef had high praise for 23-year-old guard Grace Champion.
The former CBU Lancer had an outstanding game, scoring 23 points and making five three-pointers to make the difference in the North Gold Coast Seahawks' 11-point win over the Logan Thunder.
“She killed it tonight, she took all the right shots,” Ruef told Jon Guarna post-game.
“When they closed out to her, she made all the right passes. I think that’s what we need from people like her and other players on our team.
“We know that I’m going to get doubled, we know Miela (Goodchild) is going to get doubled, so when we kick it out to those people and hit those shots, it makes it really hard for them to double us. She’s killing it.”
The North Gold Coast Seahawks will host the Brisbane Capitals on Saturday, streaming live via NBL1.com.au or the NBL1 App.
