Hope hoping to bounce Hawks to finals

With the NBL1 season now just a few short weeks away, the Ringwood Hawks have announced the re-signing of centre Hope Terdich for the 2021 NBL1 South season.

With the NBL1 season now just a few short weeks away, the Ringwood Hawks have announced the re-signing of centre Hope Terdich for the 2021 NBL1 South season.

The Hawks' latest signing has played at a high level for many years, including at WNBL level.

Prior to COVID-19, Terdich was considering a return to Australia’s top league but instead has focused on getting the Hawks back into the NBL1 finals.

It was the attraction of the club’s team-first attitude and culture of winning that has drawn Terdich to re-sign with the Hawks after missing 2020 due to COVID-19.

“I saw how Ringwood came into NBL1 and made the finals in their first year, I also saw how well the team got along and played together and I knew that was the team that I would like to be a part of,” Terdich said.

With a new-look Ringwood team in 2021, the Hawks may take some time to gel but Terdich says many of the girls are experienced, smart basketball players and know each other well, so she believes it will come together quickly.

“I have played with several of the girls in the team in the WNBL or in juniors and I know the winning attitude that they have. My aim is to push deep into the finals,” Terdich said.

Terdich joins returning team captain Danni Bone, Kate Spillane, Marena Whittle and Hajnal Nagy as the announced signings for the upcoming season.

The Hawks are expected to make a few more player announcements in the lead-up to the opening weekend of NBL1 on Saturday 17 April.
