International Star Sarah Toeaina Joins the Wolfpack in 2024

The Chambers Franklyn City of Joondalup Wolves are excited to announce the signing of international star and American Samoa FIBA National team member Sarah Toeaina for the 2024 NBL1 West season.
Sarah has been a dominant force on the court through her college career at the University of Hawaii, multiple European stops and playing for the Mandurah Magic in the 2022 and 2023 NBL1 West seasons. Sarah is a very efficient, versatile player who impacts the game in many ways. In her Senior college season, Sarah averaged 16.4 points and 6 rebounds per game on efficient 52% shooting from the field, becoming the 21st member of the 1,000-point club.
After graduating college in 2018, Sarah’s professional playing career started in England, UK where she played for the Sheffield Hatters in Britain’s top league (WBBL), Sarah won League MVP with averages of 20 points and 9.7 rebounds per game.
In 2019, Sarah was named to the American Samoa National team to compete in the FIBA Pacific Games. Her team swept the competition going 5-0 to win gold. Sarah was the top performer with averages of 21.2 points, and 8.2 rebounds per game and led the team in both categories.
From 2019 – 2020, Sarah played professionally in Sweden for team SKKB and also in Finland for team Kuovot before making her debut in the NBL1 West with the Mandurah Magic. Sarah averaged 18.5 points and 6 rebounds per game, including a season high 29 points against the Wolves in the playoff Semi Final, pushing the Magic on to the Preliminary Finals. The Magic’s playoff run ended at the hands of NBL1 Champions, the Cockburn Cougars.
Women’s Head coach Jesse Pence had this to say about signing Sarah:

Her versatility and ability to impact the game all over the court is what I look forward to. Thank you to Andrew Summerville for his assistance in landing such a versatile and complete player as we gear up for a big 2024 season!”
Sarah had this to say about joining a new club:
“Thank you to Joondalup & Coach Jesse for the opportunity to further my career in the NBL1. Being a powerhouse within the league I look forward to competing each game at a high level. The support from the Wolfpack is unlike any other and I can’t wait to better my game with a group of girls that are hungry to win. I’m returning with a different coloured jersey but with the same mentality to dominate.”
