Rebecca Cole believes the Centre of Excellence’s Sitaya Fagan is “the future” of women’s hoops down under.
After being named the Foot Locker Player of the Week, Fagan is truly making her mark on the competition.
The 17-year-old is having a career season, averaging 24 points, 11.1 rebounds, two steals, 1.8 assists and 1.7 blocks per game for the 10-2 CoE this season. With multiple Division I college offers coming her way, the sky is the limit on what this rising star can do.
On the latest episode of The NBL1 Show, the two-time WNBL champion and NBL1 National Champion Bec Cole explained just how exciting Fagan is as a prospect.
“(She is) the future of the women’s basketball game here in Australia,” Cole said.
“She’s been absolutely dominating for the CoE. She’s a kid, but playing against women and she’s (still) producing good. She’s had three games with thirty-plus points and ten-plus rebounds, another three games with 25-plus points and not only that, she’s a menace on the defensive end.
“What I love is that she takes what the defence gives her, she has a three-ball, she can attack the rim and then she has post-moves, as well as fadeaways and different finishes. What can’t you do?”
