JACK HAGGETT RETURNS TO CASTEC RURAL PIONEERS FOR ROUND 10 CLASH

The Castec Rural Pioneers are pleased to announce the return of forward Jack Haggett for the remainder of the 2025 NBL1 South season.

A product of the Limestone Coast, Haggett returns to Mount Gambier following his sophomore year with Black Hills State University in South Dakota, where he continued to develop his game at the NCAA Division II level. Standing at 6’8", Haggett brings a valuable mix of size, athleticism and perimeter skill to the Pioneers' frontcourt.

Having last suited up for the Castec Rural Pioneers in 2024, Haggett now re-joins the squad with enhanced experience from the U.S. college system. At Black Hills, he has proven to be a reliable scoring option and capable rebounder, adding strength and range to his game during his time abroad. His return is expected to boost the Pioneers’ depth and versatility heading into the second half of the season.

“We’ve been waiting patiently for Jack’s approval to play. His versatility and IQ will be a great addition for us,” Head Coach Richard Hill said.

“Having a talented local back is huge for our program as we all watch Jack’s progression with great interest.” He added

Haggett is set to take the court this weekend as the Pioneers hit the road for a Round 10 double-header. The team will face the Kilsyth Cobras on Saturday, June 14 at 5:00 PM at Kilsyth Sports Centre, followed by a clash with the Knox Raiders on Sunday, June 15 at 12:00 PM at the State Basketball Centre.

With Haggett back in the rotation, the Castec Rural Pioneers continue to strengthen their push toward finals contention in what has already been a highly competitive 2025 campaign.
