Jack Purchase returns to Melbourne Tigers for 2026 season

The Melbourne Tigers have announced the re-signing of Jack Purchase ahead of the 2026 NBL1 South season.

Purchase was a key piece of the Tigers' 2025 lineup which made it all the way to the NBL1 South Grand Final from 6th place, before losing to eventual champions the Sandringham Sabres.

Averaging 20.9 points, 3.3 assists, 7.2 rebounds, and 1.5 blocks last season for the Tigers, Purchase's strong form earned him a one year deal with the Brisbane Bullets ahead of NBL26. 

Purchase's regular season was hihglighted by an unbelievable display against the Eltham Wildcats on May 4th where he dropped 55 points, setting a then NBL1 single-game scoring record which was eventually broken by Elijah Pepper later in the season. 

He then capped off his season with a huge moment in the Preliminary Final against the Knox Raiders, sending the Tigers into the Grand Final by hitting an enormous game-winning shot with just 10 seconds to go.

Re-signing Purchase after announcing the return of Andrew Gaze as head coach and securing the signature of big-man Joshua Sykes from the Eltham Wildcats, the Melbourne Tigers will definitely look to go one better after their runner-up finish in the 2025 NBL1 South season.
