In a huge signing coup for the North Gold Coast Seahawks, hometown hero Lauren Jansen has agreed to terms for the Coles Express NBL1 North 2022 season.
Coming off a huge season in the QSL 2021 competition where her side went undefeated and went on to be crowned champions, Jansen put up video game numbers for the season.
Averaging 14.5 points, 14.3 rebounds, 4.5 assists and just over two steals per contest, Jansen led her team from the front and will look to emulate this form in the NBL1 North competition.
Head Coach for the North Gold Coast Seahawks NBL1 North Women’s side Brad Kann is pumped to have Jansen in the group once again.
"'Loz' just emulates everything that winning is about," Kann said.
"Her desire to compete and win at every level she plays at is exactly what our group needs in a leader, and we will be looking for her to continue this next year with our young group.
"It’s also what she brings leadership-wise with the team – we know that when the going gets tough that she will be the calm influence that we will all need.
"I can’t wait to see what 'Loz' can bring at this level."
Jansen said she’s excited to see what the young and talented group can bring this year.
"I wanted to continue playing and I’m keen to work with our group this year," Jansen said.
"Brad laid a fantastic platform for the women’s program last year, and with what we were able to accomplish in the QSL last season, I’m confident our team can make a splash in our first season in the NBL1 North competition.
"I can’t wait to get back to the Nest and in front of our fans."
