2023 NBL1 West First-Team member Joe Cook-Green has broken the all-time single-game scoring record for both women’s and men’s with 54 points last weekend.

In the double-overtime loss last Friday, Cook-Green shot 58 percent from the field and dished out six assists in 50 minutes for the Eastern Suns.

This season the NBL1 North’s Jason Cadee broke the men’s record with 52 points, with Ky Stattman quickly tying the record a few weeks later.

Nicole Munger scored 53 points last season and holds the record for the women’s division.

NBL1 West expert Greg Hire has glowingly spoken on the 26-year-old’s season and said his scoring outburst may have helped him make that NBL leap.

“I reckon Joe Cook-Green has done himself a lot of favours in terms of auditioning for the NBL,” Hire said on The NBL1 Show.

“He’s been compared to a Marshall Nelson and obviously he’s had an opportunity at the NBL level. But I am a massive fan of his.”

The NBL1 Conference Finals continue this weekend, streaming Live & Free via NBL1.com.au, NBL1 App and Kayo Freebies.
