Isla Juffermans dominated for Basketball Australia’s Centre of Excellence on Thursday night, as her 30-point, 11-rebound performance led her side to an 87-77 win over the Sydney Comets in a standalone NBL1 East women’s fixture.

Juffermans established herself early and often in the paint and the Comets had no answer for her. The COE continually found Juffermans on the offensive end and she responded with efficiency, shooting 14-of-18 from the field.

The game was the COE’s last of the regular season, as they end the campaign with a healthy 16-6 record. The victory elevated them to fourth on the ladder.

Jayda Clark was a steady hand for the COE with 17 points and eight rebounds, while Sienna Harvey contributed nine points and eight assists.

Comets guard Vanessa Panousis had 24 points and six assists, and she was well supported by Jada Crawshaw’s 20 points and eight rebounds.

Sydney will look to get back on the winners last in Saturday’s clash against the second placed Newcastle Falcons.
