The South West Metro Pirates have announced their first women's signings for the 2022 NBL1 North season, with Tylah King and Catherine MacGregor joining the Ship.

King re-signs after a promising 2021 campaign where she averaged 8.15 points, 2.30 assists and 3.61 rebounds per game.

MacGregor crosses over from Ipswich where she averaged 11.07 points and 2.07 boards from 13 games.

Pirates women's coach Brad George was excited about what King and MacGregor could produce next year.

"Tylah’s versatility, athleticism and team first mentality made her a key resigning for our team for 2022," he said.

"She will be even better this season and I expect her to play an important role in our teams success.

"Cat has all the natural attributes to be an elite player with her height and athleticism.

"She also has the ability to turn a game in a matter of minutes as she possesses a lethal shooting touch which stretches the floor not only for herself but her teammates.

"Cat is extremely coachable and with the right mindset will attract WNBL interest in 2022."
