Lauren Scherf signs with Redbacks

Australian basketball star Lauren Scherf is returning to the NBL1 with the NBL1 West's Perth Redbacks for the 2023 NBL1 season. 

Scherf last played in Italy for Campobasso, where she played five games and averaged 6.5 points with 7.4 rebounds. 

She now joins the 12th-on-the-ladder Perth Redbacks and Head Coach Michelle Fletcher could not be more excited to add the WNBL veteran.

"Securing a talent like Lauren is something that we won’t be taking for granted," she said.

"The accolades she’s already achieved in her journey speak to the calibre of athlete Lauren is, and we are wrapped that our Redbacks women will experience working alongside her to bring the best out of this program.

"It really is an exciting opportunity for our team, the club and the greater community!"

Last NBL1 season Scherf played for the Kilsyth Cobras, averaging 18.8 points, 12.6 rebounds and 3.2 assists.
