The Mandurah Magic thumped the Willetton Tigers 104-52 on Friday night at Mandurah Aquatic & Rec Centre. The 52-point victory showcased Mandurah's dominance from start to finish in an impressive season opener.
The Magic put on an offensive clinic, shooting 41.5 percent from deep as they drained 17 triples. McKenna Dale led the charge with 20 points including five treys, while Grace Berg added 16 points and dominated inside with 12 points in the paint. Alex Wilson stuffed the stat sheet with 13 points, eight boards, and five steals. Mandurah's ball movement was exceptional with 29 assists to Willetton's 12, while also forcing 31 turnovers and grabbing 19 offensive rebounds.
The Tigers struggled to find any rhythm against Mandurah's suffocating defence, shooting just 34 percent from the field. Ajulu Thatha led Willetton with 13 points, with Eva Langton adding 12 and Ella Averill contributing 11. Despite competing on the boards early, the Tigers couldn't overcome their turnover troubles, allowing 21 points off giveaways while managing just five offensive rebounds to Mandurah's 19.
