Maitland ran away with a 104-62 win over Albury Wodonga on Saturday at the Maitland Federation Centre, showcasing a dominant inside presence against their overmatched opponents.
The home squad established control early, building leads as large as 45 points during an overwhelming performance. Maitland's interior dominance was impossible to ignore, racking up 70 points in the paint compared to just 30 for Albury. The Mustangs also capitalized on Albury's mistakes, turning 23 turnovers into 15 points while dominating the glass with 55 rebounds to Albury's 43.
James Hunter led Maitland's efficient attack with 19 points on 53 percent shooting, while Mandrell Worthy added 15 points and five boards. Christian Little provided a perfect spark, shooting a blistering 83 percent from the field for 14 points while collecting four steals.
Despite the lopsided result, Matthew Gray put up 15 points for Albury Wodonga, while Immanuel Allen added 11 off the bench. Ahren Freeman recorded a double-double with 10 points and 11 rebounds, but the Bandits struggled mightily from outside, connecting on just 18 percent of their attempts from beyond the arc.
