The Mandurah Magic have added another key target in securing Sarah Toeaina for the 2022 NBL1 West season.
The University of Hawaii alum has been playing professionally in Europe including stops in the UK, Sweden and Finland since graduating in 2018.
Magic women's head coach Vlad Alava was elated to secure Toeaina's signature.
"This has been twelve months in the making," Alava said.
"I spoke to Sarah befoer the 2021 season about coming to play but it didn't pan out.
"However, next season looks a different story, which is great for us.
"She's versatile, athletic and has a broad skillset on both ends of the floor.
"I really feel she is going to be suited to our style of play."
Toeaina, who is currently playing her second straight season at Finland with Kouvottaret with current averages of 21 points and nine rebounds per game, is equally excited about joining the Magic family.
"I am extremely blessed to be given this opportunity," Toeaina said.
"I hope all are safe and healthy during these uncertain times.
"I can't wait to meet the team and go battle with them.
"I'm excited to see what Australia has in-store for me.
"Sending plenty Aloha from Finland- Merry Christmas to all!"
Toeaina joins a Magic team that Alava is trying to strengthen with more offensive firepower, while still maintaining a strong defensive focus.
"Sarah's put up strong numbers in Europe in every stop she has made where she plays the role of a marquee player," Alava said.
"She's used to the attention and here she will come into an environment where there are other offensive weapons in our system, so as the theory goes, hopefully that makes us harder to defend with her inclusion."
Toeaina joins Aimee Brett, Lily Fitzgerald and Sarah Allen a new additions for the Magic women in 2022.
