The Mount Gambier Pioneers have announced the signing of talented guard Nick Marshall for the club's debut NBL1 South season.
Marshall, who is a North Adelaide junior, joins the Pioneers after competing in Adelaide’s modified competition following the cancellation of the 2020 NBL1 season.
In 2019, Marshall posted 12.8 points and 6.4 rebounds per game as a sophomore with Clarke University located in Dubuque, Iowa.
Head Coach Richard Hill is excited to be able to welcome Marshall to Mount Gambier, but also have him prepare for the 2021 season after being on his radar to join the Pioneers for some time.
"Nick has been fortunate to be able to remain on court, playing in Adelaide’s limited fixture competition throughout 2020," he said.
"His decision to come to Mount Gambier and compete within the NBL shows his will to want to continue to improve and compete at higher levels."
During the Adelaide 36ers preparation for the 2021 NBL season, Marshall was fortunate enough to spend time working on his game with a professional club.
He is another talented young Adelaide player that has made Mount Gambier his destination of choice to aspire at playing at higher levels playing within the NBL1 South competition in 2021.
The return of basketball to the Ice House is highly anticipated for the Pioneers Basketball Club and the wider Mount Gambier community.
The Pioneers' NBL1 season is scheduled to start on Saturday April 17 against the Bendigo Braves at the Ice House.
