Mate joins the Rockets in NBL1 Central

The North Adelaide Rockets have announced Rachel Mate has joined the club for the 2021 NBL1 Central season. 

Mate, who was born and bred in Queensland, has transferred to Adelaide due to work commitments and will now play for North Adelaide.

Mate is a 21-year-old point guard who most recently played for the Ipswich Force in the QSL and in 2020 she was part of their leadership group.

She has been playing QBL since she was 16, appearing in 85 games during her five-year career and averaging 12 points per game.

Mate says her career highlight so far is captaining a Queensland U20s state team where she top scored at the tournament averaging 17.5ppg.
