The Hobart Chargers have announced the signing of Jonathon Mines for the 2021 NBL1 South season.
Bringing experience from all around the world, Mines played his college basketball with the New Mexico Highlands Cowboys, where he finished his first senior season averaging 22.3 points per game.
He also earned RMAC First Team honours.
Having played internationally in Croatia and Greece, Mines has also participated in the pre-season camp in the NBL while also starring in the QBL.
As a player, Mines brings an up-tempo playing style to the floor.
At 6'4, he can penetrate the defence and get to the basket to finish under duress, dish to a teammate anticipating a pass from nowhere, pull up for a mid-range jumper, or isolate his opponent within 25 feet of the hoop.
Defensively, the passing lanes are never safe with his length and quick hands, usually resulting in a slam on the other end,
The Kingsborough Sports Centre will be rocking with Jonathon Mines lighting up the floor this season.
