Mount Gambier Pioneers Gear Up for 2025 Pre-Season Battles

The Mount Gambier Pioneers are excited to kick off the NBL1 2025 Pre-Season this weekend at the annual 4-team challenge hosted by the Millicent Basketball Association. 

Both the OneFortyOne and Castec Rural Pioneers will hit the floor for their first pre-season games, with games scheduled on Friday 28th February, Saturday 1st and Sunday 2nd of March.  

The Pioneers' schedule for the weekend’s games is as follows:  

Friday 28th of February 2025  
6:30 PM | Castec Rural Pioneers vs. Norwood Flames  
7:30 PM | OneFortyOne Pioneers vs. Norwood Flames  

Saturday 1st of March 2025  
5:00 PM | OneFortyOne Pioneers vs. Woodville Warriors  
6:30 PM | Castec Rural Pioneers vs. Woodville Warriors  

Sunday 2nd of March 2025  
9:30 AM | OneFortyOne Pioneers vs. Norwood Flames  
11:00 AM | Castec Rural Pioneers vs. Diamond Valley Eagles  

All game times are listed in South Australian time, with canteen and bar facilities available all weekend. Both daily and weekend door charges apply. The Millicent Basketball Association is hosting a Schnitzel Night on Saturday night at the association. Please contact the Millicent Basketball Association to book.

Week Two of Pre-Season  

In the second week of pre-season, the Pioneers travel to Portland on Sunday 9th of March, with both the OneFortyOne and Castec Rural Pioneers hitting the court against NBL1 South rivals.  

Sunday 9th of March 2025

3:00 PM | Castec Rural Pioneers vs. Geelong United  

Tickets are available at the door for $10 per person. Kids under 10 years of age enter free. Canteen and bar facilities are available.

NBL1 South Blitz – March 15-16  

Following this, the Pioneers will travel to the annual NBL1 South Blitz, held at the State Basketball Centre on Saturday 15th and Sunday 16th of March. Both the OneFortyOne and Castec Rural Pioneers will play two games across the weekend.

Final Pre-Season Game at Wulanda – March 22  

On the last weekend of pre-season before the NBL1 South 2025 season tips off, the Pioneers Basketball Club is pleased to announce that we will play a pre-season game against the Ballarat Miners at Wulanda for our home fans on Saturday 22nd of March.
