Reigning NBL1 South Coach of the Year Mark Alabakov said he's thrilled to bring someone of Wilson's talent into the Braves program.
"I’m thrilled to have Ally in Braves blue and gold for this season, she’ll be an exciting addition to our program," he said.
"Ally and I have been part of each other’s basketball stories multiple times - we worked together in Townsville early in our WNBL careers, won a WNBL Championship together (with Cass McLean) later on, reconnected at the Spirit in 2022 as her career went up a level, and I’m pumped to work with her again at the height of her powers.
"We have a great camaraderie, respect for and trust in one another developed from that time, as do a number of our athletes who have been her teammates over the years. Ally is a complete player, capable of impacting the game in many ways - her nature as a relentless competitor, her dynamic offensive skill package and her tenacious, lockdown defence.
"She adds an electricity that will continue to evolve our program as we aim to remain the number one NBL1 program in the country, and a place where the elite and emerging elite come to level up their game and be put in positions to be successful. It’s a testament to what we’ve built here in the past four seasons that a player of Ally’s calibre joins us this season."
She now joins her partner Amy Atwell as well as Bendigo legend Kelly Wilson and Championship Game MVP Megan McKay on the roster.
The Braves start their season tomorrow night against the Ballarat Miners, streaming live from 6:00pm AEDT via NBL1.com.au or the NBL1 App.
