Here is the recap of this round's action highlighting mental health

Mud flings Mavericks in shootout

Former Adelaide 36er Alex Mudronja was the catalyst as the South Adelaide Panthers crushed the Eastern Mavericks at home before it turned into a shootout in their 109-84 win at the Jungle. Mudronja was on triple double pace as he posted 23 points, 9 rebounds and 7 assists and along with Todd Davies (27 points, 7 rebounds, 4 assists), a resurgent Jarryd Hoppo (21 points, 9 rebounds, 3 assists and steals) and a fired-up Adam Brown (19 points, 6 rebounds, 3 assists) took care of the business they needed to minus Starling, Shead, Hulland and Ellison. For the Mavs, the shining light was the 26-year-old Tom Cromarty who lodged a season high 19 points, 8 rebounds along with Diing Lual who was on track for a big double double with 18 points and 9 rebounds. On a tough night from the field for William Wise the third he ended up finishing with 23 points and 13 rebounds despite only being on 6 points at the half.

Brandon fine puts Eagles ahead of “Jam”

It took a huge performance from Big Brandon Brine to shake the Norwood Flames as the Forestville Eagles jumped ahead of the “Jam” in NBL1 Central Mens 2021 with their 89-84 win at the Nest. Brine finished with 33 points and 11 rebounds and was the dominant force from Greg Mays (20 points and 11 rebounds) and Michael Harris (18 points and 5 assists). For the Flames the recruit in the off-season young Moses Nuangki continued some hot form with his 23 points at 61.54 percent from the floor with 6 rebounds with CJ Turnage turning in a triple double of 19 points, 12 assists and 11 rebounds.

Tigers grind Bearcats in last quarter onslaught

The Southern Tigers also have jumped ahead of the “Jam” with a comeback 61-69 win over the West Adelaide Bearcats and spoiled the celebrations of 300 gamer Anthony Spadavecchia at the Bearcat Cave. The Tigers reeled off a 5-24 last quarter led by “The Truth” Cameron Coleman with 21 points, 6 rebounds and 4 steals but the Tigers mainly got it done by committee by multiple contributors. For the home side Earnest Ross grabbed a double double with 16 points and 12 rebounds.

Lions leap just falls short of Sabres

The Central District Lions mounted a comeback in the final term but fell just short of the Sturt Sabres as they missed a chance to get right back into the middle of the table with a 96-89 loss to the home side at the Cave. Sam Daly (25 points) and a near triple double to Joel Spear (23 points, 16 rebounds and 9 assists) setup the Sabres lead after quarter time before the Lions hit back in the last quarter with a 20-33 run. The Lions had five in double figures with Lual Diing continuing his recent red-hot form with 18 points and 12 rebounds along with Shaq Maharaj with 17 points.

Jack jumps Rockets away from Warriors and up table

A dominant performance from Adelaide 36er Jack McVeigh including some key closing baskets has seen the North Adelaide Rockets move up to sixth on the table as they upset the Woodville Warriors at the Castle 96-103. McVeigh dropped 33 points along with 6 rebounds and a match with some big individual numbers for both sides with both teams shooting 50 percent and above in the contest. Sunday Dech was super-efficient with 26 points at 60 percent, 12 rebounds and 7 assists along with Tobias Dowdell with 18 points at 61.54 percent and 10 rebounds. Warriors Julian Jacobs went close to triple double territory again with 26 points, 11 assists and 7 rebounds to lead his home side along with Joe Jackson (20 points and 11 rebounds) and James Boonstoppel (18 points and 6 assists).
