Fab-ian leads Bearcats to famous win with purpose

Indigenous round was bookmarked at Michael Ah Matt Court by an incredible performance from indigenous young gun Fabian Johnson as he took his West Adelaide Bearcats to a tied split with their 75-87 win over the South Adelaide Panthers. Johnson dropped 15 points in the first half to finish with 21 points and 4 assists with team-mate Bryan Michaels (15 in the second half including the split tie triple) knocking down 19 points including 4 of 9 beyond the arc, 6 assists, 3 rebounds and steals. Earnest Ross was in boss mode majority of the night as he grabbed an 18 point and 14 rebound double double as the Bearcats stormed home 14-25 in the final quarter. Both 36ers of this season Alex Mudronja (20 points, 11 rebounds, 5 assists and 4 steals) and Owen Hulland (22 points, 5/6 triples, 7 rebounds, 3 assists and steals) led the way for the home side.

Mammoth Machar explosion to sink Warriors

A season high 30 points from Malith Machar has shaken the Forestville Eagles one clear of third after they took out the Woodville Warriors 95-59 at the Nest. Machar played all 40 minutes as he shot 63 percent and collected 11 rebounds in his double double along with acrobatics above the rim. Four other Eagles joined him in double figures with Michael Harris also grabbing a double double with 14 points and 11 rebounds. Joe Jackson was the best for the Warriors with 18 points at 60 percent, 13 rebounds and a league high 6 blocks. 

Centrals stun Tigers in Safari Cup

The Central District Lions have stunned the home Southern Tigers as they took out the Safari Cup in the Mens 65-90 at the Cage. The Lions opened with a blitz from David Humphries as his heave of 23 points, 15 rebounds and 7 assists setup a 9-22 quarter time lead. Lual Diing (18 points, 12 rebounds and 4 assists) continued his strong form with Magok Manyang (17 points and 6 rebounds) also hitting some purple patch form in recent weeks. For the Tigers an ankle injury to Cameron Coleman left the home side hamstrung with COE player Lachlan Olbrich leading the way with 14 points at 60 percent.   

Mavs have heat Turnage-d up in tight clash

The home side of the Eastern Mavericks fought hard down many of their key players but the Norwood Flames eventually shook them off to grab an important win 86-98 at the Shooting Gallery. CJ Turnage dominated with 36 points, 15 rebounds and 4 assists along with four other Flames that notched double figures including Ray Harding, Daniel Webber, Jordan Wilson and Matthew Lycett. William Wise the third led an inexperienced Mavs side with 27 points and 13 rebounds with a season high to Owen Raneberg of 19 points. 

Rockets fire to steer Sabres to second loss

The North Adelaide Rockets jumped into fifth place with a stunning 94-90 win at their home of the Launch Pad over the Sturt Sabres. Newly signed Tassie Jack-Jumper Jack McVeigh jolted the Rockets out of the blocks 31-21 to finish with 33 points, 7 rebounds and 3 assists along with Jimma Dau with 17 points including 4 of 5 from the perimeter. Sam Daly was potent for the Sabres with 26 points, 5 rebounds and 3 assists along with Keanu Rasmussen with 22 points and 5 rebounds.
