ARC-show Flames fire to fifth over Tigers

A dunk and three-ball show from the Norwood Flames has fired them into fifth on the table as they toppled the Southern Tigers 116=87 at the Firedome. Six Flames fired off double figures led by a De-Lycett shooting display of 21 points including 71 percent from beyond the arc (5 of 7), 7 rebounds and 5 assists along with a paint performance from Anthony Green with 21 points at 80 percent and 11 rebounds in his double double. Nick Wurm was the Tigers best with a season high 24 points and 9 assists along with Christian Artacho with 20 points and 4 rebounds.  

De W-hitt sinks South in thriller

A last second Zach De Witt triple has saved the Woodville Warriors season as they stayed in touch with the five after their thrilling 84-85 win over the South Adelaide Panthers at Michael Ah Matt Court. Kristian Ciabattoni put the Panthers in front with the go ahead bucket with 10 seconds left before a last-minute w-hitt from Zach stole the game for the away side. With Julian Jacobs still absent with a knee injury Joe Jackson stepped up again for 25 points, 16 rebounds, 5 assists and 4 blocks along with Luke Stanbridge (22 points and 6 rebounds). For the Panthers, Alex Mudronja had a monster with 32 points and 13 rebounds while Owen Hulland shot the rock at 61 percent for his 22 points including 4 of 6 beyond the perimeter.   

Rasmussen rises Sabres in top two tussle

The rise of Keanu Rasmussen continues as he shot the Sturt Sabres to a stirring 103-84 win at the Cave. Keanu knocked down 7 of 11 from beyond as he opened and closed the match early with his 32 points along with Joel Spear who grabbed 6 triples himself in his 22 point and 13 rebound double double. The Eagles got another good one from Michael Harris with 32 points and 9 rebounds who along with Greg Mays (17 points and 5 rebounds) were the best for the away side.  

Bearcats bake-r Mavs to stay alive

The West Adelaide Bearcats have stayed in touch with the top five after they dealt the Mavericks another loss 69-99 at the Shooting Gallery. A young 21-year-old Bearcat took advantage of extra time on the hardwood with Jalen Baker cooking up a sweet 15 points at 87.5 percent with 5 rebounds and assists while Fab-ian Johnson backed up his last round performance with 17 points at 63 percent along with 6 rebounds and 3 steals while Lachie Hunter amassed 12 points and 14 rebounds in one of his best double doubles of the season. William Wise the third worked hard for his 22 points and 7 rebounds with young 17-year-old Owen Raneburg dropping 13 points and 5 rebounds.

Lions roar Rockets into three-fall out of five

The roaring Central District Lions emerged as they stopped the North Adelaide Rockets six game winning streak and clawed into fourth as they won three in a row 98-84 at the Den. An incredible 35-18 last quarter overcame the away side led by the sharp shooting Shaquille Maharaj with 27 points at 75 percent including 5 of 6 triples, Magok Manyang (24 points at 64 percent and 8 rebounds) and Lual Diing with a double double of 19 points, 12 rebounds and 4 assists. The Rockets missing Sunday Dech with a minor knee injury were led by Jack-jumping McVeigh with 31 points and 9 rebounds, former Lion Jimma Dau with 19 points and 11 rebounds and Verle “The Human Tornado” Williams with 18 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists.
