De-Lycett fires Flames to crucial crunch win
The Norwood Flames have won their third in a row and jumped up to fourth ahead of the “Jam” as they did just that in their 68-73 win over the South Adelaide Panthers at Michael Ah Matt Court this afternoon. Matt Lycett backed up his 21 points from the previous night with another set of 21 laced with 5 of 9 triples and 9 rebounds and was huge along with a delicious jam filled double double from Anthony Green of 10 points and 10 rebounds. Alex Mudronja was one of few winners for the home side with 24 points and 9 rebounds.
Hayden Meakes big return to ruffle Warriors
The Sturt Sabres are now three wins clear and secured in the NBL1 Central Finals in top spot after they toppled the Woodville Warriors 77-99 at the Castle of St Clair. It was the biggest game of the year from returned Adams State Grizzlies college player Hayden Meakes that dropped the Warriors off as he knocked down 20 points at 80 percent including 4 of 6 beyond the arc along with Joel Spear who nailed 14 points with 8 rebounds and 7 assists.
Koop dreams rocks Wise led Mavs
The Southern Tigers have clawed back up to third after their solid 84-70 win over the Eastern Mavericks at the Cage. It was mainly staged by Koop McCalop as he clocked 13 points and 17 rebounds and was one of five Tigers to reach double figures with the best point scoring outlet from Christian Artacho with 17 points. William Wise had a blinder for the Mavericks with 28 points and 11 rebounds to be the best for the away side.
Lions Malith Machar-ed by Eagles
The Forestville Eagles have flown back into second as they stunned the three-streak Central District Lions 90-111 at the Den. Malith Machar backed up his previous weekend’s outing and recent form amassing 33 points at a superb 78.95 percent and 14 rebound double double along with solid all-star utility Michael Harris (34 points, 4 rebounds, 7 assists). Shaquille Maharaj (20 points and 5 rebounds), Magok Manyang (17 points and 4 rebounds) and Lual Diing (16 points and 8 rebounds) led the way in the high scoring contest with a blow to the home side in the form of an ankle injury to David Humphries.
