Eagles establish two-game gap over Southern Tigers

The Forestville Eagles have gone two games clear in second as they won their crucial split in game 86-80 over the Southern Tigers at the Nest. It took the inform Greg Mays to produce 25 points and 6 rebounds to split the two with Michael Harris yet again producing a game of all sorts with 16 points, 10 rebounds, 7 assists and 5 steals. The West Adelaide Bearcats produced an 8-23 last quarter to stun the top of the table “United Church” Sturt Sabres in their heritage round 73-78 at the Cave. The comeback was led by bench players Patrick Ciganovic and Dellon Brown who backed up Fabian Johnson’s 20-point, 4 assist and 3 rebound efforts. Sam Daly was consistent all night for the Sabres with 26 points and 4 rebounds along with partner in crime Joel Spear with 18 points, 10 rebounds and 2 steals.  

Jew Jew mesmerizes Mavs in Warriors onslaught

The return of import Julian Jacobs has spearheaded the Warriors to a comprehensive 118-62 win over the winless Eastern Mavericks at the Castle of St Clair. Jacobs produced the second highest individual score of the Men’s NBL1 Central season with a monster triple double of 39 points (laden with 8 of 15 triples), 15 assists, 12 rebounds and 5 steals. His assist count served his team well including Joe Jackson (14 points, 10 rebounds, 3 assists and 4 blocks) and Devon McGee (16 points and 10 rebounds). William Wise the third dropped 18 points for the Mavs and along with Diing Lual with 12 points had 7 rebounds.   

Diing dents Panthers finals aspirations

The Central District Lions have put a dent in the South Adelaide Panthers finals chances whilst lifting their own as they grabbed the split 84-61 at the Den. Lual Diing did the damage with 19 points and 10 rebounds in his double double while Magok Manyang continued a strong surge of form with 20 points and 6 rebounds. The Panthers were led by a season high to Adam Brown with 19 points and 5 rebounds and Owen Hulland with 16 points and 9 rebounds in Alex Starling’s surprise return game.  

Flames-throwers destruct Rockets

The Norwood Flames grabbed the crucial win as they destructed the North Adelaide Rockets 83-98 at the Launch Pad. CJ Turnage led the charge with 27 points, 12 assists and 6 rebounds and had plenty of support from Daniel Webber (18 points at 66 percent and 5 rebounds) and Matt Lycett (18 points and 6 rebounds). NBL Jack-jumper Jack McVeigh notched up 27 points and 12 rebounds for the home side along with “Human Tornado” Verle Williams who dropped in for 24 points and 7 rebounds.
