Special JJ’s will Warriors to season-saving victory

The Wild West Showdown between the Woodville Warriors and the West Adelaide Bearcats was an all-time classic and came down to the final minutes as the home side found something at the precipice of both teams seasons 84-79 at the Castle of St Clair. Not to be outshone was Devon McGee who had a game high 26 points and along with Jackson scored 22 of the first points for the Warriors in a frantic opening quarter. The Bearcats missing Lachie Hunter and Bryan Michaels got a season high out of Patrick Ciganovic with 15 points and 4 rebounds with Fabian Johnson leading his side with a team high 17 points, 5 assists and 4 rebounds. Earnest Ross (13 points and 12 rebounds) and Luke Cadzow (12 points and 10 rebounds) worked hard for their double doubles but it was Jackson and Jacobs that took over the final minutes to help the Warriors a classic.

Ray of hope lights Flames finals push

The Norwood Flames have setup the final weekend of the season for a finals push with their second win in consecutive days as they upset the “United Church” Sturt Sabres 74-80 at the Cave. Ray Harding came up big to give hope to the Flames with 20 points along with star CJ Turnage producing 19 points, 3 assists, rebounds and steals. Sam Daly made it 50 total points for the weekend dropping 24 points with Max Calligeros having a standout game with 18 points and 9 rebounds.

Lions lock in top five spot for now

The Central District Lions completed their mission for the weekend as they came away with two wins and boosted percentage with a win over the Eastern Mavericks 118-64 at the Den. College bound Magok Manyang racked up the third highest score of the season with 38 points at 66.67 percent and 6 rebounds who along with Shaquille Maharaj with 30 points at 62.5 percent (5 of 7 triples) monstered the Mavs. William Wise the third nearly brought up half of the away sides score dropping 33 points and 5 rebounds.

Eagles soar to secure second spot

The Forestville Eagles of all but locked away second spot on the ladder and ended the South Adelaide Panthers faint finals hopes with a 91-62 win at the Nest. A 29-16 second quarter setup the victory led by sensational weekend by Greg Mays who backed up his previous night’s numbers with 22 points and 15 rebounds. Michael Harris (18 points, 7 rebounds, 6 assists), Brandon Brine (16 points, 7 rebounds and 3 assists) and Malith Machar (16 points and 10 rebounds) showed the Eagles are a strong chance to take out back to back titles after the ABC in 2020. The Panthers got a boost with Jarryd Hoppo having one of his best games of the season with 14 points and 10 rebounds but already missing Alex Mudronja had a tough task ahead of them that proved to be too much.

With only 7 games left for the season, it's all up for grabs next weekend...
