Tigers tear Warriors new one to jump to Two
The Southern Tigers continued to impress breaking into the top two with a wilful win over the Woodville Warriors at the Castle 60-83. Cameron Coleman brought the truth again with 23 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists along with Koop McCalop with 16 points, 7 rebounds and 4 steals. Julian Jacobs was the best for the Warriors with 13 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists but only two other Warriors in Joe Jackson (13 points) and Luke Stanbridge (12 points) made double figures.
Rasmussen reels off near perfect night to steer Sabres to Eighth
The Sturt Sabres remain undefeated 8-0 on the back of a near perfect shooting night from young gun Keanu Rasmussen 84-64 against the South Adelaide Panthers at the Cave. Its was a shooting performance to behold with Rasmussen nailing 31 points at 90 percent and missing one shot as he went a perfect 4-4 from 2PT, 8-8 FT and 5-6 from beyond the arc along with 7 rebounds. Not to be overshadowed was former Sydney King rookie Sam Daly with 16 points, 7 rebounds, 4 assists, 3 steals and a blanketing of the Panthers Alex Starling (9 points). For the Panthers Sam Johns dropped 18 points at 61.54 percent, 6 rebounds and 3 assists.
Overtime Eagles outlast Ross-driven Bearcats
A late Earnest Ross heave couldn’t help the West Adelaide Bearcats overcome the Forestville Eagles in an overtime thriller at the Nest 93-90. Ross hit the game tying bucket triple in regulation to send the game to overtime at 78-78 a piece. Greg Mays dominated the paint and played all night for the Eagles to finish with a double double of 31 points at 58.33 percent and 11 rebounds and was one of three Eagles to register double doubles along with Michael Harris (25 points and 12 rebounds) and Brandon Brine (15 points and 11 rebounds). Ross was enormous for his near triple double with 32 points, 19 rebounds, 7 assists and 4 steals and was well backed up by Bryan Michaels (18 points, 9 rebounds and 6 assists).
Rockets dodge Mavs scare to break drought
The North Adelaide Rockets finally lodged their second win of the season as they overcame a nervy second half comeback from the Eastern Mavericks to win 82-78 at the Launch Pad. Manel Ayol closed the game from the free throw line to finish with a double double of 24 points, 13 rebounds and 3 assists and was the Rockets best along with Jimma Dau (20 points at 76.92 percent and 7 rebounds) and Tobias Dowdell (18 points and 14 rebounds). William Wise III also had a strong double double for the Mavs with 18 points and 10 rebounds along with Tom Cromarty (15 points and 8 rebounds).
Turnage turns Flames up to down Lions
CJ Turnage once again lifted the Norwood Flames on the road as they took out a tough Central District Lions unit at their home of the Den 75-85. Turnage dropped 28 points at 65 percent and 7 rebounds with Matt Lycett producing a season high 19 points at 63.64 percent along with 5 rebounds. Lual Diing (16 points and 7 rebounds) and Shaquille Maharaj (16 points) were the best for the Lions in a pretty even performance across the board.
