NBL1 CENTRAL Round 1 Recap: Sunday

Round 1 of NBL1 Central concluded with the Norwood Flames opening their season against the Sturt Sabres with the Halls medallist and another league name dousing the Flames on their home floor.

Brilliant Mikayla Williams back with a bang

The Halls medallist of 2022 returned to action for the Sabres against the Flames with a scorching 16 points and 19 rebounds. Williams shot 50 percent from the field and showed her range has improved with some long jumpers in the Sabres 55-88 win.     

Dowdell douses Flames in club debut  

Tobias Dowdell started his NBL1 season in fine style with a solid 17 points and three assists whilst also shutting down import opponent Collin Smith on debut. Dowdell led the Sabres from the front who also debuted new import Jordan Forbes who collected 19 points, five assists and rebounds.
