Sharna shines bright in second half comeback over Bearcats

Sharna Thompson shone brightly in her 27-point, six rebound and three assist performance as the Norwood Flames burnt over the top of the West Adelaide Bearcats 66-75 at the Bearcat Cave. A sharpshooter from Japan in her second game in Honoka Ikematsu nailed four triples in her 16 points, three assist and rebound contribution leading the Bearcats to a 12-point lead with eight minutes to play.

The Flames however cooked the Bearcats 9-27 in the final quarter including a 24-point unanswered run with Thompson and Sophie Kerridge with nine of her 18 points coming in final term along with nine assists and eight steals to narrowly miss a double double - helping upset last year’s champions.   

Moses manufactures miracle to stop streak of Bearcats    

A final quarter from Moses Nuangki of 12 points saw the Flames run rings around the West Adelaide Bearcats, end their streak at eight and claim the season split with a comeback 87-102 win at the Bearcat Cave. Nuangki nailed 21 points from the pine to spark the Flames to a 14-31 last quarter after Bearcats Anthony Drmic with 26 points, nine rebounds and three assists and Lachlan Olbrich with 23 points, seven rebounds and three assists put the Bearcats out by as many as eleven points in the third quarter.

The dynamic dangers of Jack Stanwix with 26 points, four rebounds and steals and Trey McBride with 25 points, eight assists, five rebounds and four steals started the fire for the away side as they engulfed the Bearcats defence.
