Round 2 of NBL1 Central opened with the Norwood Flames up against the West Adelaide Bearcats. The Bearcats women and men were too strong for the homeside however there were some promising sparks from the Flames - and a veteran turned back the clock.

Molly’s game of double double splashes young Flames
Molly Coleman against her former side led the Bearcats with 15 points, 11 rebounds and 5 steals helped Annaliese Watkinson and Keeley Pearce and bury the Flames in the second quarter. The 11-28 quarter led to Coleman’s sides solid 54-78 win at the ARC and kept the Bearcats unbeaten in 2023.

Mighty Mitch and Drmic hold off De-Lycett Flames
Mitch McCarron went within striking distance of a quadruple double with 20 points, 10 rebounds, eight assists and seven steals in an all-round performance that led the Bearcats to a 80-94 win. Anthony Drmic contributed 22 points and 11 rebounds in his double double but they were both forced to hold off Flames veteran Matt Lycett who equalled his 2022 haul of 30 points on six of eight from beyond the arc.
The Flames may have gone down, but Matt Lycett had a game to remember!
