NBL1 Central teams to battle in ABC Grand Finals
The Grand Finals for the Adelaide Basketball Challenge (ABC) are set in stone, with the Sturt Sabres taking on the Forestville Eagles in the men’s league and the Sabres battling the Southern Tigers in the women’s league.

The Grand Finals for the Adelaide Basketball Challenge (ABC) are set in stone, with the Sturt Sabres taking on the Forestville Eagles in the men’s league and the Sabres battling the Southern Tigers in the women’s league.
In the men’s competition, the Eagles enter the Grand Final as favourites after finishing the regular season undefeated at 12-0. American Greg Mays is the player to watch for Forestville after averaging 23.9 points per game in the regular season, while Adam Doyle and Michael Harris are also important contributors.
The duo of Tom Kubank (18.4) and Joel Spear (17.2) will look to lead Sturt to the upset championship victory.
In the women’s league, the Sabres (11-0) and the Tigers (10-1) enter the Grand Final with just one combined loss this season.
Returning college star Jade Johnson leads Sturt in scoring at 14.6 points per game, while Kayla Mathews, Meg Prosser and Emily Close are all averaging double digit points.
The always consistent Teige Morrell will look to lead Southern to championship glory. Morrell amassed 18.4 points per game in the ABC and will look to fill the void of Demi Skinner and Morgan Yaeger, who have gone into the WNBL bubble.
