Ortlepp orchestrates blasting win against Panthers
The North Adelaide Rockets reversed their Round One dismantling as they claimed the split by a single point in their 79-57 win over the South Adelaide Panthers at the Launch Pad. Taylor Ortlepp was the catalyst as she stood up and scored 20 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists along with another monster near triple double from Jess Good punishing the Panthers front court with 17 points, 19 rebounds (including 5 offensive boards), 9 assists and an efficiency rating of 35. Abi Mader also came off the bench for a strong contribution in the absence of Rachel Mate with 16 points and 5 rebounds. Olivia Thompson was one of the only winners on the night for the Panthers with an absolute haul of 25 points and 26 rebounds (8 offensive).
Awesome Ally leads Flames to win over Warriors
An 18-point first quarter from star guard Ally Wilson has fired the Norwood Flames to a 89-67 win over the Woodville Warriors at the Firedome. Wilson dominated the contest with 36 points at 67 percent, 6 rebounds and assists and 5 steals with fellow guard Sophie Kerridge producing her best game of the season with a near double double of 15 points and 9 rebounds. Genna Anderson got hers with 15 points and 13 rebounds. Molly Whitmore was the best for the Warriors in her second game back from college with 20 points at 71.4 percent (14 in the first half) and 6 rebounds along with fellow college returnee Serena Waters (23 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists) and Emily Winter (11 points, 10 rebounds and 5 assists).
Tigers tenth tames Sabres again at Springbank
The Southern Tigers remain the only team undefeated in NBL1 Central season 2021 after a crushing twenty minutes led them to a 68-92 win over the Sturt Sabres at the Cave. The Tigers scored 18-50 in a twenty-minute patch led by Teige Morrell with 26 points, 14 rebounds and 4 assists and Morgan Yaeger with 20 points, 7 rebounds and assists. The Sabres got plenty from young gun Tayla Brazel and Kylee Smith (18 points each) but struggled to find other winners with plenty of their gun players shut out of the contest in the Tigers terrific run.
Simons sparkles to prevent scare from Mavs
A 35 point masterclass from Adelaide Lightning signing Sam Simons including a match closing triple has seen the Forestville Eagles shrug off a massive scare from the Eastern Mavericks 68-69 at the Shooting Gallery. Simons 35 points came at 61 percent and included 11 rebounds and 4 assists backed up by Brooke Basham with 16 points and 6 assists. The Mavs upset was almost caused by centre Rachel Hines with a season high 27 points, 9 rebounds with Mollie McKendrick active once again with 13 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists.
Bearcats shake off Lions to claw to away win
A perfect and near perfect night from the field for Jennie Rintala and Skye “Left-Handen” Langenbrinck has seen the West Adelaide Bearcats claim their fifth win of the season over the Central District Lions at the Den. Rintala racked up 23 points at 90 percent while Langenbrinck dropped 18 points at a perfect 100. Meaza Otto kept the Lions competitive through this one with 17 points along with April Rummery-Lamb with 14 points and 8 rebounds.
