The Coles Express NBL1 National Final Championship Game MVP Ryan Godfrey has re-signed with the Rockingham Flames.
The life member of the club has been described as ‘the heart and soul’ of Rockingham, telling NBL Media after the National Finals how much it meant to him to bring not only an NBL1 West Championship but also the National Title home to Rockingham.
“I’m still trying to find the words for it,” Godfrey chuckled.
“It’s incredible, incredible for the playing group, in particular for coach Ryan Petrik to bring a championship to the men’s and women’s program.”
It’s something we’ve talked about for the past four or five years and it’s always something you aspire to, but for it to be a reality is unreal.”

It’s unsurprising the life member returns to his home club, but the captain of the team will try to lead Rockingham to the promised land once again in the NBL1 2023 season.
