2022 NBL1 Championship Game MVP Leonie Fiebich will represent Germany in the FIBA Women’s Olympic Qualifying tournament in Brazil, facing off against the Opals tomorrow.
The Opals start their tournament against Brazil on Friday, and then on Sunday they take on Fiebich’s Germany 6:50am AEDT.
Fiebich was a superstar of the NBL1 West in 2022, winning the 2022 NBL1 West championship for the Warwick Senators and then following it up with a historic win in the inaugural NBL1 National Finals.
She played the last season in Spain with Basket Zaragoza while representing her home nation on multiple occasions.
In their first game against Serbia, Fiebech scored 20 points with eight rebounds and two assists to secure the win alongside former Cockburn Cougar Alina Hartmann.

She’ll face the Opals, led by NBL1 East champion Lauren Jackson and Opals debutante Stephanie Reid.

The Opals claim their first win against host nation Brazil on Friday, with former Geelong United Supercats player Ezi Magbegor having a game-high 18 points.
