NBL1 North duo sign overseas contracts

Red City Roar's Bride Kennedy-Hopoate and Logan's Ashley Taia are on the move after stellar NBL1 North seasons so far. 

Kennedy-Hopoate has signed with Gezeera Sports Club/ El Ward for the 2021-2022 season in the Superleague in Egypt. 

The Roar star played her college career at Iowa State University as well as the University of New Mexico. 

At Iowa State, she averaged 6.7 points per game and 4.2 rebounds per game while at New Mexico, she averaged 4.4 points per game and 3.1 rebounds per game. 

Kennedy-Hopoate is currently averaging 26.33 points per game, 1.66 assists per game and 12.0 rebounds per game. 

Logan star Ashley Taia has signed in Sweden with Wetterbygden Basketball.

She will head to Europe following the conclusion of the NBL1 North season. 

Taia has worked towards a personal goal of playing professionally in Europe since commencing her journey with the Thunder as a junior.
