Round 7 of the NBL1 North was in full swing this weekend, with 12 games being played across Saturday alone!

Check out how the Women's games went below:

Brisbane Capitals (71) def Gold Coast Rollers (66)

The close game saw Abby Cubillo and Lauren Mansfield go head-to-head.

Cubillo had a peculiar night, with 19 points and four assists she was the team’s leading scorer despite going 3/16 from the field - she made up the difference with two three-pointers and going 11/11 from the free throw line.

Mansfield finished the game with 20 points, nine assists and seven rebounds, while only one other Rollers teammate (Sarah Heard) scored in double-digits.

Northside Wizards (80) def South West Metro Pirates (73)

The Wizards were missing Shyla Heal, who will miss an indefinite amount of team with glandular fever, but still managed to pulled off the win against South West Metro.

Tiana Mangakahia was the story of the night with 40 points, eight rebounds, five assists and six steals to get the undermanned Wizards the win.

The currently winless Pirates put up a good fight, Bride Kennedy-Hopoate scored 25 points with eight rebounds while Stephanie Bairstow added 20 points of her own. The difference in the game was at the freethrow line, the Wizards made 18 trips while the Pirates only made 13.

Mackay Meteorettes (85) def Red City Roar (56)

It was an ice-cold showing from three-point land for the Roar, only making 2-26 (7.7%) of their attempts. The team’s leading scorer Mia Loyd scored 23 points with 10 rebounds while going 0/8 from distance.

For Mackay, Shaneice Swain led the way with 25 points with double-doubles from Grace George and Alisia Jenkins. With this win Mackey are inching closer and closer to a top four position in the conference.

Southern District Spartans (104) def USC Rip City (70)

An all-round team effort from the Spartans took down USC in an evident way, Maddison Rocci’s 26 points were not enough to stop the possible conference favourites tonight.

Madelyn Allen scored 25 points with Lil Dart and Leah Scott contributing their own 19 points each. With Kalani Purcell continuing to produce insane statlines with 11 points, 11 rebounds and 12 assists in a team statement win.

Logan Thunder (95) def Townsville Flames (77)

Shannon Seebohm’s Flames were no match for the top of the ladder Logan, off the back of Mikaela Ruef’s 37 points and 15 rebounds.

The undefeated Thunder have proven again and again that they are the team to deal with and the talented Flames could not stop Logan’s third-quarter explosion of 33 points to Townsville’s 15.

Courtney Wood added 24 points, seven rebounds and five assists while last week’s Player of the Week Stephanie Reid added 22 points of her own.

North Gold Coast Eagles (84) def Rockhampton Cyclones (56)

There was no star of the night for the Eagles, but it was never in question which team was going to win. Three of their starters scored 15 points and they controlled the boards, grabbing 48 (25 offensive boards) to Rockhampton’s 30.

For Rockhampton, Jannon Otto put the team on their back for as long as they could, scoring 21 points with six rebounds.

The Eagles currently sit sixth of the ladder, just behind the Brisbane Capitals who both face the best two teams in the conference next round.
