Rockhampton Rockets 93 def by Logan Thunder 120

Logan Thunder showcased their depth with a 120-93 road win over Rockhampton Rockets at Bravus Arena on Friday night.

The Thunder attack had seven players score in double figures as the team hit 49 of 84 field goals (58.3%) including 20 of 39 (51.3%) from deep.

Logan’s backcourt of Michael Cedar (game-high 25 points) and Jeremy Kendle (24 points) combined for 49 points. The duo was feeling it from beyond the arc as Cedar hit 7 of 11 and Kendle nailed 5 of 5 three-pointers.

High-flyer Obi Kyei (14 points, 11 rebounds) and Shaun Bryce (10 points, 11 assists) tallied double-doubles for the visitors. Mitch Young (12 points), Max Kerle (10 points), and Elijah Puna (10 points) scored in double figures.

Rockhampton’s Hayden Richardson (21 points) and Najeal Young (20 points) were the home side’s top contributors.

Ipswich Force 81 def by Gold Coast Rollers 102

Gold Coast Rollers picked up a much-needed road win with a 1-3=81 victory over Ipswich Force-at JBS Stadium on Friday night.

Rollers guard Jason Cadee orchestrated the Gold Coast offence with a game-high 33 points and eight assists.

The NBL star did most of the damage either side of the main break. Cadee scored 28 points, including 17 in the third period, to help Gold Coast outscore Ipswich 59-36 in the second and third quarters and take a 25-point lead into the final period.

Gold Coast’s Cameron Goldfinch added 21 points, while Callum Dalton (12 points) and Jarryd Eustace (10 points) were the other major contributors to the Rollers offence.

Matt Hodgson provided the most resistance against his Brisbane Bullets teammate Cadee and the Rollers as he tallied a double-double with 21 points and 12 rebounds.

Isaac White (18 points) and Mitchell Poulain (16 points) were also key contributors to the home side’s offence.

Townsville Heat 78 def Sunshine Coast Phoenix 60

Townsville Heat found their range to defeat Sunshine Coast Phoenix 78-60 at Townsville StarFM Stadium on Friday night.

The Heat hit 11 three-pointers compared to just three by the visitors.

Townsville guard Jalen Patton-Croker (pictured) scored a game high 22 points including 5 of 8 made from beyond the arc.  Heat forward Josh Spiers (21 points) also had the hot hand with 5 of 11 made from deep.

Townsville centre Sam Froling worked in the paint for his 16 points and 10 rebounds.

Sunshine Coast had four starters in double figures with Jarred Bairstow (16 points), Jamaal Robateau (11 points), Darnell Robateau (10 points) and Nelson Kahler (10 points) but none kicked on to match Townsville’s attack.
